Fun in the snow!!

This weekend didn't quite turn out as we had planned, but I guess it's a perfect example of the fact that we are not in control of things! I made the tough decision not to travel to Atlanta to accept TGK's award for being in the UGA Top 100 Bulldog Businesses (we actually got #14 - yea!!!). And Chris canceled his duck hunting trip (last weekend of the season!). But we had an absolutely wonderful time hanging out as a family.

Fun, fun, fun!!

Don't Worry Mommy!

This was too cute so just had to share - I was looking for a match to my sock this morning and Marley says to me, "Don't worry, Mommy. Don't worry. I will help you! Don't worry."

Every time she said "don't worry", she motioned me with her hands (like if you were saying "hush hush"). It was soooo sweet!! I love this kid!!

Early Christmas Present!!

I am so excited that I just have to share!! Chris and I decided to get ourselves a long awaited gift for Christmas - a new camera! I used to shoot with a Canon Rebel Eos and then when the world went digital, we purchased a small point and shoot. Now that Marley is the girl version of Flash Gordon, taking pictures of her is impossible. Soooooo - drum roll please . . . we got a digital Canon Rebel EOS xsi - and I LOVE it. I have already taken a gazillion pictures - everyone is a subject so watch out if you are camera shy. I am showing no mercy! Here are a couple I took tonight of our unsuspecting doggies . . .

Bless you, Mommy!

So I just had to share this . . . yesterday I sneezed (really loudly) and Marley says (like she has been saying it for years though I had never heard her say it before), "Bless you, Mommy!"

So sweet!! :)

Marley-moo Turns 2!!

Everyone told me it would go by quickly, but I still can't believe she is 2! So of course, we had a little (turned out to be a not-so-little) party for her with a "girly" cow theme. :)

I decided to brave the scary task of baking and make her a cow shaped cake. I was so relieved when it turned out pretty well! I discovered that there are websites devoted purely to cow products - simplybovine.com and the cowdepot.com had some pretty funny stuff! I found a giant cow balloon as well as napkins and favor bags to match. (I forgot how much fun it is to plan a party and tried not to go overboard on everything!)

Marley received so many presents, I think we will have to skip Christmas this year! But I know she had a wonderful time! I think her favorite thing was blowing out the candles - which she had been talking about days before her birthday. And when you ask her how old she is, she proudly shouts "Two!". She is so sweet, and I can't wait to see what wonderful things she does during the upcoming year!

Here she is trying out her rocking horse which was handmade by our awesome friend Jimmy Burns! (actually I think she was guarding it so no other kids would take a turn!) :)

Great Scott - it's been forever!

Well folks, once I was roped into joining that evil, time consuming monster called Facebook, I have totally and completely abandoned this little 'old blog! Well, "NO MORE!" I say. I am back and plan to keep these pages lit up with happenings from the Windley camp. So - first things first!

Let me change this front page photo and show everyone that Marley is no longer bald!

Easter Shenanigans

The Windleys spent the weekend before Easter on the coast with Grandpa Larry and Grandma Carol, and Easter weekend (which is also Nana Kay's birthday) in the mountains. Marley had a lot of firsts during these visits. She "drove" Grandpa Larry's boat - she also really enjoyed picking stray leaves that were in the boat and throwing them over the side.

She had her fist Easter egg hunt at Nana Kay's house - it was not so much of a hunt, but she did like opening the eggs (which we had stuffed with cheerios, goldfish and yogurt bites). She also enjoyed swinging on Nana Kay's porch swing - BUT only by herself. She cried and told me to move when I tried to sit with her!

Marley driving the boat (seriously - she kept pushing the button that moves the motor out of the water which shortened her time as captain)
